- NEWS: Launching Student Housing in Europe | Sciving
March brings new momentum as Sciving moves closer to announcing the first locations for its student housing units. After months of preparation and ongoing conversations with universities across Europe, Sciving expects to share the selected sites in the coming months. 29th may 2025 Sciving continues testing to improve unit design ahead of next construction phase Picture taken at DTU (Technical University of Denmark) As May unfolds, Sciving remains focused on refining its student housing units ahead of the next construction project. While preparations continue for the first locations, ongoing testing and development are helping to make the units even more efficient, comfortable, and ready for large-scale production. Recent efforts have centered on improving both the interior layout and construction process. By closely studying how the units are built, assembled, and experienced in real conditions, Sciving’s team is identifying ways to streamline production and enhance overall quality. This includes refining material selections, simplifying assembly steps, and reviewing climate performance under different seasonal conditions. Sciving units are already designed with comfort and functionality in mind. Each one includes a private bathroom, kitchenette, study space, and sleeping area, all arranged to support a student’s daily life. As testing continues, the goal is to make every detail even more precise, whether that means adjusting lighting placements, improving sound insulation, or optimizing airflow for better indoor comfort. At the same time, Sciving is exploring ways to reduce time on site once construction begins. The modular nature of the homes allows for off-site preparation, and current testing is focused on shortening the time between delivery and installation. The aim is to make it easier and faster for universities and partners to bring Sciving units to their campuses or other locations. This phase of focused development is essential to ensure that when construction begins, everything runs smoothly. It also helps lay the foundation for future projects beyond the initial pilot sites. We remain committed to delivering high-quality housing that supports students in their studies, daily routines, and personal space. Further updates will follow as construction timelines are confirmed. In the meantime, we continue to invite students to suggest future locations through the sign-up form available online. - NEWS: Sciving reflects on a year of progress and student-led growth | Sciving
As 2025 comes to an end, Sciving looks back on a year defined by momentum, collaboration, and one guiding principle: building student housing together with students. 27th december 2025 Sciving reflects on a year of progress and student-led growth As 2025 comes to an end, Sciving looks back on a year defined by momentum, collaboration, and one guiding principle: building student housing together with students. The year began with a clear ambition to turn student feedback into real action. Building on the prototype work completed at DTU in 2024, January marked the transition from concept to international ambition. Plans were set in motion to launch pilot projects across Europe, with students invited to actively shape everything from layouts and indoor climate to how housing supports study, rest, and social life. From the very start, 2025 was about listening first and designing second. Throughout spring, that ambition gained structure. Student sign-ups and university conversations confirmed what Sciving had already sensed: there is strong demand for affordable, private, and well-designed housing that reflects how students actually live today. By March, preparations were underway to announce first locations, while continued testing and refinement ensured that the units themselves met high standards of comfort, flexibility, and efficiency. Every adjustment, from sound insulation to airflow, was driven by real-world use and long-term scalability. April marked an important internal milestone, as Sciving began developing its own management and cleaning operations. This step reinforced a long-term commitment to quality and reliability, ensuring that the student experience remains consistent across locations while staying aligned with sustainability goals. At the same time, testing and production planning continued through May, laying the groundwork for smooth future construction and installation. As summer arrived, the focus shifted strongly toward partnerships. While campuses were quieter, Sciving deepened its collaboration with universities, municipalities, landowners, and developers. These months turned early conversations into concrete planning, with five European cities emerging as focal points for future projects. By late summer and early autumn, negotiations moved closer to formal agreements, bringing Sciving closer to turning plans into physical student communities. Autumn also marked a new phase beyond housing alone. In October, Sciving prepared for the launch of the Sciving App, opening a direct channel between students, housing opportunities, and a wider support ecosystem. The app represents an expansion of Sciving’s mission, combining housing access with communication, community building, and financial relief through student-focused partnerships. November then introduced another bold idea: exploring crowdfunding as a way to expand access, visibility, and student ownership of the platform and its purpose. Looking back, 2025 has been a year of foundations. No single announcement defines it, but together the months tell a clear story: Sciving has grown from a promising concept into an active, international project shaped by students, universities, and partners across Europe. Systems have been built, partnerships strengthened, and a shared vision clarified. As Sciving moves into 2026, the focus turns from preparation to realization. With locations nearing confirmation, digital access about to launch, and a growing community behind the mission, the coming year will be about welcoming students into homes they helped define. 2025 proved that when students are invited into the process, innovation becomes grounded, relevant, and lasting.
